ON THE BOARDS | The $70M Fieldhouse+ Fosters Community, Creativity, and Inclusion

A collaborative effort by the Boys & Girls Clubs, Martin Richard Foundation, and Boston’s city government, the hub aims to enhance physical health, creativity, and mental well-being for residents of all ages and abilities.

The Fieldhouse+, a $70 million, 75,000sf community hub in Dorchesters Columbia Point, is designed to unite youth of all ages and abilities through sports, wellness, arts, and inclusive programming. The project is a collaboration between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester, the Martin Richard Foundation, and the City of Boston designed by RODE Architects.

Inside, double-height basketball courts, a full indoor turf field, recording studios, teaching kitchen, classrooms, sensory rooms, and conference spaces will help support occupants’ physical health, creativity, life skills, and mental well-being. Designed with universal access in mind, it builds on Dorchester’s existing Challenger League to ensure participation for individuals with disabilities.

A luminous glass-walled theatre and outdoor piazza will create gathering places that encourage social interaction and community pride.
