AIA Celebrates Five Young Architects for 2025
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has selected five recipients for the AIA Young Architects Award.
The AIA Young Architects Award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the architecture profession early
in their careers.
Nominees are evaluated based on their commitment to demonstrating the value of design, practice, or education; giving back to the profession via industry-related organizations; and giving back to the community through active unpaid service.
Olivia Mae Asuncion, AIA, champions accessibility across architecture, policy, and education.
Carlos Augusto Garcia, AIA, advocates for architecture as a catalyst for equity, sustainability, and community empowerment.
Gloria Kloter, AIA, is shaping pathways for immigrant architects, women, and young professionals through mentorship, advocacy, and leadership.
Corey Squire, AIA, has redefined the role of sustainability in architecture, from co-creating the AIA Framework for Design Excellence to helping firms embed climate and equity into practice.
Matthew Szymanski, AIA, creates transformative opportunities that bridge education, practice, and community engagement.
