The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is preparing to host its highly anticipated GATHER 2025 National Conference from August 17–19 in Atlanta. This year’s event carries special significance, marking ASID’s 50th anniversary and celebrating five decades of leadership in the interior design profession.

Since its founding in 1975, ASID has championed the transformative power of design, fostering collaboration and advocating for the role of interior designers in shaping the built environment. As the organization reaches this milestone, GATHER 2025 will serve as both a reflection on its legacy and a look toward the future, offering a space for designers to explore how their work continues to evolve in response to social, cultural, and technological shifts.

The choice of Atlanta as the host city is especially meaningful. ASID’s connection to Atlanta dates back to its early years, as the city played a pivotal role in the organization’s development. It was in Atlanta that ASID first established its presence as a leader in the national design community, and today, the city remains a vibrant hub for the industry. With its mix of historic architecture, cutting-edge commercial developments, and thriving creative culture, Atlanta provides the perfect backdrop for a conference focused on honoring ASID’s past while embracing the opportunities of the future.

At the heart of GATHER 2025 is a commitment to bringing together the diverse voices that make up the interior design profession. The conference will offer a robust lineup of programming, including thought-provoking keynotes, interactive education sessions, and ample opportunities for in-person engagement. The learning tracks—covering health, safety, and welfare; sustainability; technology and trends; business and leadership; and design inclusivity—will ensure that designers from all sectors and experience levels gain valuable insights relevant to their work. Dr. Jennifer Keitt will open the conference with her keynote, “Timeless Leadership: Designing a Life That Feels as Good as It Looks,” offering strategies for focus, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership. Closing the event, Dr. Tracy Brower will present “How to Thrive: Evidence-Based Strategies to Persevere and Persist in Uncertain Times,” equipping attendees with research-driven insights on navigating challenges in the profession. Additional speakers include ASID National Board Chair David Euscher and “Home Is Where the Heart Is” co-host Olivia Westbrooks.

Beyond education, GATHER 2025 will serve as a platform to recognize excellence in the interior design industry. The conference will kick off with Cheers to Excellence: ASID’s 2025 Awards Toast, celebrating the recipients of ASID’s National Awards and ASID Fellows. As ASID honors those who have made significant contributions to the profession, the evening will also serve as a moment to reflect on the organization’s milestone anniversary and the legacy of innovation that has defined its first 50 years. The celebration will continue throughout the event, culminating in ASID’s Golden Soirée at the Georgia Aquarium’s Ocean Ballroom, where attendees will gather for a stylish tribute to ASID’s past, present, and future.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience Atlanta’s thriving design scene through curated tours and special events throughout the city. From historic preservation projects to cutting-edge design spaces, these experiences will highlight Atlanta’s diverse and evolving design landscape. As the city that played a formative role in ASID’s history, Atlanta is the ideal setting for this anniversary celebration, offering both inspiration and a reminder of how far the organization has come.

With early-bird registration now open through June 1, GATHER 2025 is expected to attract a broad spectrum of design professionals, including interior designers, architects, manufacturers, educators, and students. Full conference pricing starts at $649 for ASID members, $799 for non-members, and $299 for students. Whether you’re a seasoned professional reflecting on decades of change in the industry or an emerging designer looking to chart your path forward, this year’s conference presents a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate with peers.

As ASID reaches this milestone, GATHER 2025 will stand as a defining moment—both a tribute to the organization’s legacy and a launchpad for the next era of design leadership. The event will reaffirm the power of community in shaping the profession and set the stage for the continued impact of ASID in the decades to come.
