IRVINE, Calif. – Global hospitality design firm WATG has announced the promotion of two senior leaders: Gregory M. Villegas and Monica L. Cuervo.
With strong growth in their integrated services strategy, Director of Construction and Technical Services Gregory M. Villegas was recently promoted to associate vice president. Villegas joined WATG in 1997 and has 25 years of experience in architecture, construction and project management. He has a track record in managing large-scale mixed use developments.
In addition, WATG has promoted Monica Cuervo, managing director of the Irvine office, to vice president. Harvard-educated, Cuervo joined the firm in 1993 and has proven leadership and design expertise. She has been involved in the design of commercial and hospitality projects around the globe, including large, multiple land use projects in Panama City and in Hangzhou, China. More than twenty percent of the senior leader positions at WATG are currently held by women.
“Both Monica and Gregory have demonstrated their agility in terms of directing and managing complex projects in often challenging geographies," says Mike Seyle, CEO of WATG. "This is invaluable to the firm as we continue to design pioneering projects in exceptional locations.”
