A thoughtful redesign of the historic Lodge at Pebble Beach—perched above the famed 18th green and sweeping Pacific views—reframes the property’s public spaces for today’s hospitality landscape. Led by HBA San Francisco in collaboration with Pebble Beach Company, the project honors the Lodge’s legacy while introducing spatial richness, contemporary detailing, and strengthened ties to the Monterey Peninsula’s dramatic coastline.

Arrival and Public Realm

The redesigned arrival experience sets a refined and unified tone with crisp millwork, patterned carpet, and layered textiles that elevate the sensibility without obscuring place-based cues.

Inside, the Terrace Lounge serves as an adaptable social hub, inviting transitions from morning coffee to evening gatherings. A new service bar and rhythmic coffered ceiling guide views to the Pacific horizon, while layered seating and a tonal palette support comfort and sociability framed by dramatic outlooks.

From the lounge, an expanded outdoor terrace introduces a fresh spatial experience. Fire pit tables encourage relaxed conversation, and thoughtfully scaled umbrellas preserve sightlines to the 18th green, reflecting a responsive approach to coastal weather.

Dining and Culinary Spaces

Stillwater, perched above the course, weaves maritime influences into its material story with marble accents, knotted rope screens, and a sculptural installation inspired by local seafaring culture. A reoriented bar commands ocean views and anchors the dining experience.

The dining layout orchestrates a natural cadence of zones: Upper-level banquettes offer privacy, while sweeping window walls and arched brick portals define the main dining room. Antique mirrors reflect views of Stillwater Cove, amplifying light and reinforcing a strong sense of place.

Hospitality and Flexibility

Longstanding favorites like The Tap Room retain character through signature amber wood tones, green accents, and gallery-style moments that celebrate golf history, while expanded service areas and the new Champion Room support larger gatherings with ease.

Meeting and event spaces emphasize adaptability and connection to landscape. The Card and Library Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling fireplaces wrapped in calming blue tones inspired by Stillwater Cove and are configured with large sliding panels that allow varied programming. A new window wall and exterior terrace flood these rooms with natural light, enhancing warmth and openness.

Improved circulation between functions comes via a newly constructed staircase, enhanced pre-function spaces, and an elevator, all integrated without compromising architectural harmony.
