Sittris Secures GREENGUARD Certification

July 23, 2007

Toronto - Sittris, a company dedicated to healthcare seating, was recently awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI). Tested according to GREENGUARD's precise standards, consumers can now be assured that Sittris' seating furnishings do not contribute to indoor air pollution.

"Providing our customers with high quality, environmentally friendly products is a driving force in Sittris' design and manufacturing processes," says Glenn Barras, president of Sittris. "The GREENGUARD Certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to improving cleanliness and comfort in healthcare environments for doctors, staff, patients and visitors alike."

All three Sittris fabric options-Siliform, Sittris' patented process for applying silicone to a chair; Microcare® upholstery featuring germ-killing Nano-Silver technology; and Sustain, an environmentally friendly, PVC-free synthetic leather-were tested and passed, confirming that all three fabrics produce low chemical and particle emissions, and contribute to not only a better working environment, but also a better healing one.

The only program of its kind, GREENGUARD Certification requires interior products and building materials to undergo rigorous emissions tests. The certification process tests products for emissions of formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), respirable particles and other pollutants. Only low-emitting products that do not compromise the air quality of indoor environments are awarded GREENGUARD Certification.
