EMERYVILLE, CA – Scientific Certification Systems(SCS), an international certification body for products with low chemical emissions, continues its pursuit of leadership standards by joining a panel of international experts to address U.S. and European indoor emissions testing and certification protocols.
"The proliferation of EcoLabels in recent years is filling market shelves with a multitude of competing claims. The panel, the first of its kind to share information between United States and Europe, will compare test protocols and emissions limits used in the United States, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France and more. The group hopes to coordinate laboratory testing requirements and outline a set of unified protocols, so that a manufacturer may truthfully tout its products as a "low-emitting material" in countries on both sides of the Atlantic.
