Located in Class A office space in Los Angeles, this 10,000-square-foot project consists of a full interior A/E service design and renovation of the Pacific Financial Center’s plaza, second-floor main building lobby and reception, and main building elevator cabs.
LEO A DALY’s approach to the interior design of the lobby and the mezzanine consists of creating open, bright environments and luminous spaces reflective of light.
The organizational patterns of the design plan, the delineation of the boundaries of the spaces, and the patterns of the floor and ceiling all unite to facilitate intuitive pedestrian traffic. Travertine floors in directional textures, and a reflected ceiling plan detailed with acoustical qualities and enhanced by cove lighting draw pedestrians in.
The second floor mezzanine is anchored by a reception desk, which is backed with a glowing decorative patterned glazing plane illuminated by colored LED lights. Cove lighting above the reception desk also captivates visitors.
Updating the outmoded space includes complying with current building codes. The addition of a two-story escalator servicing the ground floor and mezzanine brings the space into ADA compliance.
The project’s estimated date of completion is November 2010. For more information, go to www.leoadaly.com.
