A new exhibition at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. focused on green schools and featuring the Perkins+Will-designed Sprout Space modular classroom will also feature new products from MooreCo.
The Green Schools exhibition, which opened in early March, looks at schools from across the country that are taking advantage of new technologies and ideas to improve their infrastructure. The exhibit is broadly divided into two thematic sections. The first will focus on how schools are “getting green” by examining the architecture, landscape and sustainable systems for air, light, and water, while weighing the cost and environmental benefits of construction. The second section will concentrate on how schools are “staying green,” taking a look at curricula, garden programs, composting and recycling, transportation, green cleaning, and other issues.
The Green Schools exhibit utilizes three MooreCo Inc. GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certified products. For furniture, the Shapes™ Configurable Student Desks are arranged in a collaborative stadium setting along with Circulation Chairs inside the exhibit. Sharewall® is featured both inside and on the exterior of the Sprout Space™ classroom.
Jeanne Swift, vice president of sales, commented that “These updated modular classrooms and improved construction methods offer a cost effective and healthy solution for new and remodeled schools. We are thrilled to be asked to collaborate with this forward-looking group who, like us, are dedicated to providing a healthy place for children to work and learn.”
