Product in Placement: Even Hotels New York — Times Square South

Featuring natural and urban interior spaces, the new EVEN Hotels in Times Square offers respite and wellness within the heart of the asphalt sprawl. A collaboration among Glen & Company Architecture, Peter Poon Architects, and the InterContinental Hotels Group, the hotel embodies its motto of “Eat Well, Rest Easy, Keep Active, and Accomplish More.”

“We designed EVEN Hotels New York—Times Square South utilizing inspiration we gathered from nature, immersing natural elements such as water, grass, wood, and stone into the space,” said Glen Coben, founder and owner of Glen & Company Architecture. “Our goal was to create an atmosphere that enhances the wellness experience within the hotel which ultimately provides maximum relaxation for guests.”

Guests are greeted by a biophilia-inspired setting that features recycled and local materials like wood textured walls, grey stone ceramic tiles, and cork floors. A singular water droplet spurred the ceiling design, while fruit-infused water helps guests rehydrate and rejuvenate upon check-in, during which they can view a glass-enclosed wall resembling the interior cross-section of the earth. Gabion walls and 15-foot stone columns are displayed throughout the lobby, while digitally produced large-scale grass covers the walls of the guestroom corridor.
The “Rest Easy” pillar provides relief from the hustle of the surrounding mean streets. Guestroom interiors are welcoming, soothing, and inspired by natural elements like greenery-themed curtains, wooden accessories, and earth-toned tapestries.

EVEN Hotels is committed to the environment and also to respecting the history of each community it occupies. This location is a testament to that philosophy.
