Sean Samet has been named executive director of the Wallcoverings Association (WA), the trade association dedicated to representing, connecting, and supporting manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers of residential and commercial wallcoverings in North America. Samet will manage the WA’s programs that gather information on market trends, foster leading business practices, and provide industry education and information through a series of national events, newsletters, continuing education units, and media partners.
Samet, who was operations manager for both the National Paper Trade Association and the Association of Prospect Researchers for Advancement, also has previous association experience at The North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors, National Fastener Distributors Association, Product Development Management Association, International Business Brokers Association, The M&A Source, Americas SAP Users Group, and the Association for Corporate Growth.
He will help manage wallcovering industry sustainability initiatives and maintain standards such as the NSF/ANSI 342 third-party certification for sustainable wallcoverings. This standard evaluates the environmental impact of both the manufacturing and distribution of a wallcovering and gives consumers and specifiers a true benchmark for comparing sustainable attributes.
Samet holds an MBA in finance from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a BA in audio engineering from Chicago’s Columbia College.
