“It’s inspiring to see a product that is visually rich and textural also be leading by example by pushing the boundaries of environmentally responsible materials. And proving sustainable products can be fashionable.”

—Sarah Adams, LEED AP, interior project designer, Perkins+Will

1. SHAZIA is a hand-tufted rug designed by Mona Ronteix for Ligne Roset. The raised design is created using differing tuft heights. The rug’s base is composed of 9mm- to 10mm-high tufts, with tuft heights of 13mm to 14 mm used for the design. Made with 65-percent wool and 35-percent viscose, SHAZIA is available in beige and rose.

2. Gone are the days of 12-foot repeats, limited colors, and flat lifeless layers. Brintons Terra-Grit features nine custom Axminster patterns. Its High Definition Weave technology with 32-color capability achieves depth and texture. Each pattern is expansive, with the largest reaching a 48-foot repeat. Terra-Grit is ideal for hospitality and large public areas like grand ballrooms and convention spaces.

3. Night Vision from Bentley leverages innovation in yarn technology to create shifting dimension and depth of color depending on the direction the viewer is walking. The broadloom and carpet tiles feature variegated yarns that alternate between low and high luster, mixing color to create a subtle ombré effect. With the COLORCAST program, designers have access to infinite possibilities of color combinations that can be matched to any source.

4. Blend, designed by RAW Color for nanimarquina, plays with the visual perception of color. Solid surfaces interact with duo-toned lines, merging into the viewer’s eye to create new colors. A multitude of subtle shades are rendered departing from five different yarns. Made from 100-percent Afghan handspun wool, Blend includes three models with hue, luminosity, and saturation variations.
