Antimicrobial Series from Rocky Mountain Hardware

Aug. 22, 2013
I’m a new series of antimicrobial hardware from the fine folks at Rocky Mountain. Learn my full story inside.

Where are you from?
Hailey, Idaho, by way of Olin Brass in Louisville, Ky., so I’m thoroughly U.S.-born and bred.

Who in your family do you most resemble?
I consider myself to be a bit of a utility man. I can take on the look of any one of the thousands of styles offered by Rocky Mountain, or you can design me to resemble anyone or anything you like. Custom orders are a little specialty of mine.

Aside from sugar and spice and everything nice, what else are you made of?
Most folks know my family members for their art-quality solid bronze composition, which makes me a bit of a black sheep, so to speak. I’m cast from a newly developed copper alloy known as CuVerro that kills harmful bacteria 24 hours a day.

What one word best describes you?
Protective.

What are your biggest turn-ons?
I love being handled, pulled, pushed and grabbed, so give me a great door, cabinet or even a water faucet.

Turn-offs?
Bacteria and germs—I fight them like crazy!

In what type of interior environment do you make the greatest impact?
I’m truly suited to healthcare facilities, whether acute care, long-term care or assisted living, although I fit in anywhere that people meet and interact, such as upscale wellness centers or spas.

Describe the secret to your success.
Honestly, the secret to my success lies in the relationship between Rocky Mountain and Olin Brass. They’ve teamed up to produce a wide range of architectural hardware featuring CuVerro copper, giving designers alternatives to the conventional hardware styles typically found in institutional interiors. I’m just the face of the franchise.
