Where did you grow up?
I am the result of a global study on the phenomenon of light and spectral hues. My creator is a Norwegian artist, so I’m also born of magnificent influences like the Aurora Borealis. But in truth I hail from Venezia, Italia, where you might find me cavorting on the shores of the Adriatic, captivating wanderers with my luminous spectrums, and casually beckoning, “Buongiorno.”
What was your first big break?
Interestingly I appeared in the video piece COLOUR SYNESTHESIA IV, exhibited at the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013. What you see is the original fusion of film, photography, and sculpture. I am the intersection of high art and high design.
What’s the rumor mill churning out about you these days?
That I have been seen … a lot—with white, black, and 50 shades of grey. I’m also a gull for long walks on the beach. Why sit idle when you can sit tidal?'
Where was the last place the paparazzi photographed you?
I have been photographed so many ways—with a huge cool grey mohair sofa. Recently I went out to dine with my entire family of nine different tables at a restaurant that was all white, so you can just imagine the vibrant poetry of color all of us created. The chairs were black velvet; they were a negation of light, whereas we were the celebration of it, embodied.
Aside from sugar, spice, and everything nice, what else are you made of?
Naturally, I consist of ultra-clear glass to allow the truest essence of my colors to be seen untainted. As a café table, I have a solid hardwood base covered in lacquer to stimulate my vivid hue. As the center table, I have a polished stainless steel base that visually disappears—leaving a sublime, floating, pure circle of color.
If you could get one plastic surgery procedure, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change a thing.
Who are some of your idols and influencers?
Sunlight, starlight, and fine art.
What’s your biggest turn-on?
Balance, restraint, and vitality.
Turn-off?
Lack of vision.
Who’s your current bestie?
Of course I am usually found with the amazing artists from artobjectified.com: Anne Senstad, my designer and confidant, as well as Michael Daube and James Wilkins.
Who would you like to work with next?
The OM Suspension Lamp by Michael Daube. It is the 3D manifestation of the word om’s soundwave, in polished nickel plate. Our vibes are perfectly aligned.
What’s the worst part about fame?
Nothing! Look at me.
