Where did you grow up?
I was born in the mind of my creator, Emilio Nanni, and grew up in Manzano, Udine, with Billiani—a long-standing Italian family whose success is based on simple but fundamental values and principles.
What was your first big break?
Well, my first and great occasion was Salone del Mobile 2015 in Milan! It was an amazing, scenic stage for me.
What’s the rumor mill churning out about you these days?
People say that the tailored finishes emphasize my strong character.
Where was the last place the paparazzi photographed you?
I saw a picture of me standing at the fifth pavilion in Rho Fiera with Luigi Billiani and Emilio Nanni—we were breathtaking!
Aside from sugar, spice, and everything nice, what else are you made of?
Well, my frame is comprised of stained or lacquered beechwood, and I’m upholstered in fine fabric—but I’m also made of love, design, and experience.
If you could get one plastic surgery procedure, what would it be?
I don’t think I need any! People say I have the perfect behind. Never has there been such sweet fusion between frame and seat. I'm characterized by my accurately conceived construction and the master craftsmanship of my shell, which folds and receives my back leg.
Who are some of your idols and influencers?
My main influencer is Italian design with its history of hand-crafters, but my idol is my creator. I wouldn’t be here without his creativity.
What’s your biggest turn-on?
I can combine innovation and formal precision with extreme comfort. My soft elegance bestows imminent comfort upon guests and prestige to their surroundings.
Turn-off?
You’ll never get up from me. Is that a turn-off?
Who would you like to work with next?
I would like to work with imaginative architects and interior designers who are able to underline my expressive force.
What’s the worst part about fame?
You know, it’s so strange. Everybody suddenly loves you and wants you. They dream about you; they want to be with you. It can be daunting. But I’m lucky. My Billiani family is very strong and provides great support.
