Brick design paint by emil ceramica While Coverings in Chicago this past April provided us with plenty of opportunities to see the best of the best that the tiling and stone industry is producing, it was Emil Ceramica's Brick Design Paint that caught my attention. While so often the go-to pallets are filled with neutrals, the broad range of colors in Emil's collection makes adding a pop of color—to a restaurant bathroom or school hallway, and everything in between—an easy solution in a durable tile system.

1. HanStone Quartz has expanded its line to include five new colors (artisan grey, celestial, rocky shores, smoke, and silhouette), all the first to be launched as part of Hanwha Surfaces’ North American production line this year. They are made of pure, natural quartz, and are nonporous, resistant to heat, stains, and scratches.
2. Industry is a porcelain stoneware subway tile collection from Nemo. Place it on walls or floors for an aesthetic that marries both urban and vintage styles. Six moody colors are finished off with a matte glaze and silky surface. Tiles are 7.5 cm by 30 cm.
3. Naïve Slimtech from Lea Ceramiche features a seemingly three-dimensional surface texture, created using an enamel technology and modules of ultra-thin (5.5 mm) laminated porcelain. The slabs are 3 m. by 1 m. and can be cut into any shape. Applicable for both walls and floors.
4. Nora Systems’ noraplan valua is a true workhorse. The rubber flooring system offers 32 nature-inspired colors in either plank or sheet format, and is naturally bacteriostatic and fungistatic. It’s also GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low VOC emissions and includes no polyvinyl chloride (PVC), plasticizers (phthalates) and halogens (such as chlorine).
