HBF Textiles

July 28, 2016

For her collection with HBF Textiles, Christiane Müller derives inspiration from the built world to create “good space.”

When approaching her collaboration with HBF Textiles, Amsterdam-based designer Christiane Müller looked to create a collection which would generate “good space”—environments which foster comfortable, safe, and happy emotions. In doing so, the use of color and structure became paramount, weaving a common theme throughout the six patterns: Dreamy, Honest, Honest Square, Smart, Complex Flirt, and Eccentric.

Of the collaboration with HBF Textiles, Müller stated, “The philosophy of HBF Textiles, where the focus lies on high-end quality materials, well-constructed and sustainably engineered, with a luxury-structured tactility, connects perfectly to my idea about honest, well-designed, and beautiful surfaces and textiles.”

To design the collection, Müller was influenced by the layering of vibrant hues, and the play of hard and soft in the built environment to create warm, inviting color combinations and textures. From stairways to performative sculptures on the catwalk, Müller combined her inspirations into a show-stopping collection for HBF Textiles which gives the viewer reprieve from the harshness of the outside world.
