Just in time for summer: the new Long Reach Tennis Club—a 49,000-square-foot recreational facility in Columbia, Maryland—opened its doors (and six tennis courts) in March 2018. Designed by GTM, the central clubhouse is complete with a reception area, pro shop, lounge, bar, offices, and locker rooms available for guests. The mezzanine level allows patrons to watch matches indoors while also offering a galley and meeting spaces.

    A Future-Proof Recreational Facility

Additionally, the facility was designed to be environmentally friendly. Outfitted with solar panels, LED court lies, electric car charging stations, high-performance insulation, high-efficiency HVAC systems, and on-site bio-retention facilities, the sustainability intention looked at the building holistically.

That holistic intention is translated into the products used as well. Because of the different flooring and surfacing types needed, the specification list reads like a who’s-who.
