Frank Ponterio Interior Design (FPID) is augmenting its wide range of exceptional interior design services with the appointment of an in-house interior architect. David Pickert, AIA, LEED AP, has been named director of interior architecture and will serve to facilitate the firm’s valued collaboration with architects, builders, and developers in addition to providing added rigor and expertise to its full-service interior design capabilities.
Pickert’s primary role will be to engage with project architects and to implement architectural oversight of the firm’s signature, highly detailed interior spaces. The appointment signals an expansion of the firm’s full-service offerings dedicated to the highest levels of design excellence.
“This strong link between the interior design team and a project’s architect will be an added value for our clients,” Frank Ponterio said. “David is a well-respected, skilled expert on complicated interior architectural detailing. His academic approach to design and appreciation for classical architecture will heighten our ability to create highly personal, exceptionally crafted spaces.”
Pickert has 25 years of architecture and design experience working on a wide variety of residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Pickert established his own practice, David J. Pickert Architecture and Interiors, in 2011 after serving as principal architect at HBRA Architects. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where he has also served as adjunct professor.
“Frank Ponterio excels at being able to define the humanity of a space while I love delving into the aesthetic and technical intricacies of every design detail,” Pickert said. “I am looking forward to providing impact in this way to a wide range of projects at the firm.”
