Who are you?
I am Legrand’s Hubbardton Forge line of six lustrous metal wall plates forged by fire, designed to create a new level of aesthetic appeal when coordinating with Legrand’s lighting controls.
Where did you grow up?
Castleton, Vt. It is there where my wall plates are hand-forged one at a time by Hubbardton Forge, modern American blacksmiths.
Aside from sugar, spice, and everything nice, what else are you made of?
My wall plates are created with real metals, and I’m available in six finishes: black, bronze, burnished steel, natural iron, dark smoke, and mahogany.
What’s the rumor mill churning out about you these days?
That my family is growing! It’s true—coming soon there will be new finishes in the line.
Where was the last place the paparazzi photographed you?
I’ve been lighting up tradeshows across the country in 2015, but most recently, the press caught up with me at the HI Connect show. I was spotted in hospitality vignettes designed by Marriott Hotels, as well as a restaurant space designed by Duncan Design Group. And let me tell you, I look just as good at the bar as I do in the honeymoon suite.
If you could get one plastic surgery procedure, what would it be?
No nips or tucks needed. The “imperfections” in my metals are actually one of my leading attributes—I’m created in nearly 2,000-degree heat, which drives impurities from the steel to yield a striking textural expression that makes each wall plate as unique as a fingerprint.
Who’s your current bestie?
My BFF is the adorne collection of light switches, dimmers, outlets, and USB chargers.
What’s your biggest turn-on?
When paired with an adorne light switch, there are so many ways to turn me on. My favorites include a gentle tap of a finger, the wave of a hand, or even just walking into the room.
Turning me off is fun, too. You can make it happen slowly with a dimmer switch.
What’s the worst part about fame?
Nothing! The limelight makes me shine.
