ZCA and HBL Announce Merger

New studio to be led by Steve Lucchesi, AIA, will tackle worship, education, and community spaces.

Ziegler Cooper Architects has announced a merger with Hall Barnum Lucchesi Architects (ZCA+HBL), effective Wed., July 22, 2015. Ziegler Cooper and HBL Architects have strategically partnered to provide clients with the benefits of expanded resources and service types, award-winning design, and a unique studio structure with sector-specific knowledge.

“The acquisition of HBL Architects is an exciting step for both of our firms and will allow the combined talents and resources of ZCA + HBL to better serve our clients in the design of worship, educational and community facilities,” said Scott Ziegler, AIA, founding principal of Ziegler Cooper Architects.

Located in Houston, Texas, HBL Architects has provided quality architectural services since 1966 for civic, commercial, corporate, institutional, municipal, educational, religious and residential projects. “As we work to help shape the growing city of Houston and larger region surrounding us, I am very excited about the merger of HBL Architects and ZCA,” Steve Lucchesi, AIA, vice president of HBL Architects said. “Through seasoned leadership and this blending of our talented forces, we will deliver to our current and future clients inspiring designs and sound technical expertise to ensure the success of many more landmark worship, educational, and community projects.”

ZCA's Steve Lucchesi, AIA will serve as principal-in-charge of the Worship, Education and Community Studio. They are currently engaged in the design of The John Cooper Rock Math & Science School’s expansion of a 56,000-sq.-ft. STEM building, which recently broke ground in The Woodlands, Texas.
