Tarkett North America Leadership to Participate in Panel Discussion at Living Product Expo 2015

Martel, Bezati will join industry leaders from Herman Miller, Innotec, and Global Concepts Enterprise to discuss benefits of Circular Economy Framework

WHAT: Underscoring the company's commitment to sustainability, Tarkett Vice President of Environmental Planning and Strategy Diane Martel and Environmental Responsibility Manager Feliks Bezati are scheduled to speak alongside an esteemed panel of sustainability experts at Living Product Expo 2015. The educational track session for Net Positive Products + Enterprise is entitled, "It Works! Supplier Collaborative Success Stories." Martel and Bezati will address how our society is facing resource management and personal health challenges due to the increase of global population.

WHY: The transition to a circular manufacturing economy, one where resources are repeatedly re-used, is an important change in the industry. Companies striving to contribute to the economy, quality of life, and equity are increasingly adopting this model. In addition to improving supply chains and raw materials, Tarkett and others have worked with key suppliers on sustainable initiatives, such as using recycled materials in popular products, developing renewable energy solutions and recycling their own products at the end of their use.

WHO: Diane Martel is responsible for driving the company’s sustainable messaging, programs, and initiatives. Martel works with all divisions of Tarkett North America to develop and implement an environmental strategy and action plan, ensuring awareness and action across the industry. Martel has helped drive initiatives including the company’s asthma & allergy friendly certification, execution of its Environmental Health Statement (EHS) tool (developed with the EPEA), and more.

Feliks Bezati, Ph.D., is responsible for implementing Tarkett North America’s sustainability strategy and initiatives encompassing the full value chain of Tarkett’s products and solutions. He leads the assessment of raw materials used in Tarkett products and the development of collaborations with recycling partners to support the establishment of a take back system, among other responsibilities.

WHEN: "It Works! Supplier Collaborative Success Stories," will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, at 10:45 a.m. EST. Living Product Expo 2015 extends from Sept. 16-18, 2015.

WHERE: As part of the Living Product Expo, the panel discussion will be held in Room 325 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Tarkett’s exhibit space is booth 208.
