Where did you grow up?
My parents are from Germany but we moved to the States when I was very young. But Jasper, Ind., reminds me of the old country.
What was your first big break?
It’s the craziest thing—it just kind of unfolded. I was at this show in Baltimore and the next thing I knew, the crowd was building and I was performing over and over again.
What’s the rumor mill churning out about you these days?
Well, you know how it is with rumor mills and a Secret. The whispers are all about the multiple materials I’m seen with: veneer, TFL, and even textured melamine.
Where was the last place the paparazzi photographed you?
I made an appearance at a show in Chicago—you know, as a favor to a friend—and it got wild. People had their hands all over me.
Aside from sugar, spice, and everything nice, what else are you made of?
Aluminum legs to scale and hidden tops that prevail—that’s what Secret Tables are made of.
If you could get one plastic surgery procedure what would it be?
I would enhance my … depths.
Who are some of your idols and influencers?
Dining room tables, flip-up extensions, and leaf inserts.
What’s your biggest turn-on?
I can accommodate several coworkers meeting in a small space.
Turn-off?
The high cost of square footage, i.e. shrinking real estate.
Who’s your current bestie?
I have a companion called Triple Play that can go anywhere with me. You know the kind, dresses for any occasion.
Who would you like to work with next?
Canvas benching would be great, and of course sit-to-stand configurations. There is a new guy working with my agent. He’s a little tasking, but I think we are going to be great together.
What’s the worst part about fame?
There’s no more hiding.
