Neo Architectural Lighting Launches The Flindt Project Contest

April 24, 2024
Designers and students are tasked to use their creativity to reimagine Flindt's designs, submissions open April 29.

NEO Architectural Lighting, Louis Poulsen’s exclusive partner for commercial lighting in North America, has the launch of The Flindt Project Contest. Designers and students are asked to showcase their creativity by envisioning any of Christian Flindt's acclaimed Louis Poulsen designs in a conceptual installation project for indoor or outdoor settings. Flindt's designs up for interpretation include the Flindt Bollard, Flindt Garden, Flindt Plaza, Flindt Wall, LP Grand and LP Xperi. Designers and students can access revit files and 3D model files online.

Following the design and submission dates of April 29-May 26, the public can vote online for the best project across six contest categories, pertaining to each of Flindt's six products designed for Louis Poulsen. Neo Architectural Lighting will select an honorary winner from the voters for their participation.

“We are excited to celebrate Christian Flindt’s talent and successes with this unique competition,” said Kent Pedersen, co-founder & CEO of NEO Architectural Lighting. “We can’t wait to see all of the projects and visions from our incredible design community.”

Christian Flindt’s innovative designs in conventional constructions showcase him as a designer unafraid to push boundaries. His integration of LEDs in his work further demonstrates his ability to seamlessly merge diverse fields like lighting and furniture design.  Flindt's collaboration with Louis Poulsen began in 2006, yielding creations such as the Flindt Bollard, the LP Xperi, the LP Grand, and the Flindt Wall. The latter won the Danish Design Award in 2019. Additionally, his lighting designs have garnered multiple awards including the Bo Bedre Design Award in 2005 and the Bolig Magasinet Design Award for the Louis Poulsen Flindt collection, as well as the ELFORSK Prize in 2014 by the Danish Department of Energy and Electricity for the Louis Poulsen Flindt Bollard.

The Flindt Project Contest launched on NEO Architectural Lighting’s website on April 15. For updates, follow NEO Lighting's Instagram @neolightingus and on LinkedIn.
