Mary M. Williamson has joined the New York City office of Brennan Beer Gorman Architects and Brennan Beer Gorman Monk Interiors (BBG-BBGM). Ms. Williamson has been appointed the director of business development for the well-known international design firm, and assumed her new position in September.

Stephen Westog will be responsible for managing and leading the Southwest region's sales team by maximizing business development and profitable growth, building brand awareness and product reference.

Suzanne Tick, Inc. will be responsible for developing Monterey's overall product strategy by working with a team of talented design professionals to create new floor covering products for all market sectors. Terry Mowers, co-partner of Suzanne Tick Inc., will work with Ms. Tick to follow the firm's design philosophy. With more than 20 years of carpet industry sales and marketing experience, Mr. Mowers brings his ability to foresee market trends to the partnership.
Gunlocke announced the appointment of Richard (Ric) Andersen as vice president of sales. Mr. Andersen takes over this position from Russ Minick, who was promoted to president of Gunlocke in August 2004. (SDA) recently announced the expansion of its Taos corporate offices. Its Taos location, established to directly serve clients in New Mexico and the western United States, will now house Sargert Galleries. This new, contemporary showroom will exhibit and market works by some of America's most notable artists and artisans, as well as hand-selected and rare antique furnishings. The Taos location will also house the newly launched venture N2-the specialty design/fabrication arm of SDA-offering high-end architectural and interior design elements in one-of-a-kind and special limited editions.
In a move that will allow Atlanta architecture firm Lord, Aeck & Sargent to pursue the housing and mixed-use development market, including college and university projects, the firm announced that award-winning Atlanta architects Eric B. Brock, AIA, and David E. Green, AIA, partners and co-founders of Brock Green Architects and Planners, have moved their practice to form a dedicated studio group within Lord, Aeck & Sargent. The merging of expertise became effective Dec. 1. The new group, which will be called the Housing & Mixed-Use Development Studio, enhances and complements the firm's established expertise in educational, historic preservation, arts and culture, and science markets. The studio will be staffed by Brock, who has become the studio director; Green; and eight other architects and intern architects, all of whose careers in architecture have been focused on the planning and design of housing and mixed-use developments.
Trendway Corp. announced that it has entered into a design partnership with POSH Office Systems (HK) Ltd. POSH is the largest distributor of commercial and retail quality office furniture in Hong Kong and operates a franchise network in China. The new partnership combines POSH's expertise in product design, engineering and tooling with Trendway's strengths in manufacturing, distribution and exceptional service. Through their collaboration POSH and Trendway intend to develop a complete office furniture product line. The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) held its annual Leader's Breakfast Sept. 8 in the Garden Court of the Palace Hotel. Five hundred guests gathered to honor Jean Hansen, IIDA, LEED AP, CID, who was presented with the 2004 IIDA Leadership Award, Northern California Chapter. The award recognizes an individual who has displayed exemplary leadership in the profession of interior design and architecture, as well as service to the community.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently announced that DPR Construction, Inc. is a recipient of one of this year's highest and most prestigious environmental honors—the Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Awards (GEELA). DPR received recognition in the sustainable facilities category for its 53,000-sq.-ft. Sacramento office building, which achieved Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification for new construction and Gold LEED certification for commercial interiors, and is the first privately held LEED certified building in California's Central Valley.
