Keilhauer Receives Environmental Distinctions

Nov. 20, 2006
Toronto (October, 2006) - Keilhauer recently announced that it has earned GREENGUARD® Indoor Air Quality certification for all its executive, task, side and stacking chairs. In addition, earlier this year, Keilhauer's Simple chair was awarded a Silver designation from the MBDC Cradle-to-Cradle™ product certification program."We are dedicated to creating products that are sensitive to the environments in which they are placed, and are pleased to have this commitment confirmed by GREENGUARD and MBDC," says Mike Keilhauer, president. "These two organizations have been instrumental in setting standards for manufacturing that we strive to meet with all our products."Keilhauer's environmental initiatives go beyond using recycled and low-emitting materials in their products. All Keilhauer facilities were old factories that were completely gutted and converted to modern buildings. The factories were fitted with state-of-the art lighting with electronic ballasts and motion detectors, low flush toilets, and low-glare double-thick curtain walls. At Keilhauer's headquarters in Toronto, all the electricity used to power the factory and offices comes from 100 percent green power sources provided through Bullfrog Power—a green electricity retailer.About Keilhauer
