Launched as a Knowledge Resource

Nov. 7, 2006

(October, 2006) – Allsteel Inc., a leading contract furniture designer and manufacturer, announced the launch of its new Web site.

Like Allsteel’s innovative line of workplace furniture solutions, the new site is thoughtfully designed—relying on usability testing and extensive customer research—to offer a quality experience to customers, designers and other site visitors and provide them with highly useful and relevant content, while being easy to search and navigate.

“The intent of the new Web site is to be a valuable resource—a place for someone to understand and gain a better awareness of Allsteel, our products and the knowledge and expertise we provide in developing workplace solutions,” says Jan Johnson, Allsteel vice president, marketing. “The result serves as an important and useful tool for decision-makers, facility managers and designers throughout their research, selection and purchasing process.”

The site was designed by, a full-service interactive agency that has created effective interactive marketing campaigns and world-class Web sites for such global clients as 3M, British Airways, T-Mobile and Visa. According to Dave Johnson, president, North America, “Allsteel understands the importance of living the brand across all channels—whether it be in a showroom, in print or online, or in interactions with their members. The new not only gives users what they’re looking for, but does so in responsive, efficient and effective ways.” The new site also includes a KnowledgeCenter with information on topics such as workplace trends and ergonomics and also provides examples of project successes via images, detailed case studies and inspiring project profiles.

“We want people to not only understand Allsteel as a company, but also what research, knowledge and expertise go into the products we develop, and about our commitment to rapid continuous improvement and how we provide meaningful solutions for our customers,” says Tim Abel, Allsteel manager, technical communications. “In addition to supporting specific project inquiries, now offers far more product specific details, including product prices, design guides, and even material choices.

“The site enhances product imagery and the ability to directly download images as well as easily share information on a specific page with clients. It even includes a ‘fly-out’ product menu on the home page allowing visitors to quickly view and compare products without having to navigate deep into the site. This allows anyone to browse our entire product line with a sweep of a mouse,” adds Abel.
