Designers Take on Yonkers Loft Design Challenge

April 10, 2007

Yonkers, NY (PRWeb) – MetroPartnership, the Yonkers-based real estate developer announced the two winners in its Interior Motives competition—an area-wide search for interior designers to design, furnish, and decorate two luxury live/work spaces in the new LOFTS at METRO92 (www.metro92.com) on the Hudson River waterfront in Yonkers.

The two winners, Sanjive Vaidya of Brooklyn and Ada Gonzalez of New Rochelle, were chosen from an array of applicants because their portfolios are well-suited for the design the true urban loft spaces prevalent throughout the building.

"Artistic vision, and a pioneering spirit'," according to MetroPartnership partner, Ken Dearden, "These were the qualities we were looking for in our winners." The design competition is typical of the company's creative approach to attracting potential tenants to the revitalized Yonkers' waterfront.

Each designer has been given a 1500-square-foot blank canvas, a $5,000 budget and complete freedom to explore a design motif. The lofts will be designed to accommodate a live/work lifestyle—one of the benefits the newly renovated building affords its tenants. The spaces will be completed by April 30 in time for their debut at Yonkers Business Week, when the spaces will be made available to the public during an Open House from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Sanjive Vaidya is an AIA-accredited architect with Vaidya Stoltz Architects in Brooklyn. He has extensive experience in custom residential projects and was previously with prestigious firms, Pei, Cobb, Freed and Partners and Davis Brody Bond prior to joining Vaidya Stoltz.

Ada Gonzalez is the principal of Ada's Interior Design Inc., in New Rochelle. She specializes in designing solutions that provide style and comfort in a home at a moderate budget, publishes a bi-weekly newsletter called Smart Decorating! E-News, and is an interior design subject specialist for DETC (Distance Education and Training Council).

MetroPartnership specializes in the design, construction and management of amenity-laden residential and work/live spaces in Westchester and the tri-state area.
