Lexus Dealership Shifts to Green
While image, comfort, and convenience were important features in the design of the new Lexus dealership in Westminster, CA, it’s what was “under the hood” that mattered most. Sustainable features include solar shading devices, water-conserving technologies, and interior materials and finishes produced from recycled products ranging from wood veneers to acoustical ceiling tiles and perforated metal ceiling panels.
Trump on Sustainability: You’re Hired!
“Trump on the Ocean,” Donald Trump’s catering hall, nightclub, and restaurant now under construction at Jones Beach in New York, will swear off exotic tropical hardwoods unless they have the blessing of the Forest Stewardship Council, use ozone-friendly refrigerants in the kitchen, and will be built with at least 20 percent recycled materials. The facility is the first for which the Trump Organization will seek green certification.
