NYC Students Team Up With Leading Architects & Designers to Makeover School

Sept. 1, 2007

New York Education + Design (NYED)-a unique initiative pairing the world's leading architects with students who have interest in design and architecture-has provided students from the Urban Assembly School of Design & Construction (UASDC) the opportunity to help create plans for the reconstruction of their school. The program, created by NY3D Design New York (NYIIID.com), is providing more than 30 NYC High School students the opportunity to further ignite career interest in design and construction. The student/architect teams will "makeover" a total of six common areas and work spaces at the UASDC, including two hallways, two classrooms, the science lab and the principal's office. The students will consult, critique, and create plans, incorporating their own ideas and theories of design. Go to www.nyiiid.com for more details.
