Stanford Medical Center Designs Unveiled
University architect David Lenox said a set of general design guidelines being drafted will maintain continuity of construction at four separate sites, each under the direction of a different architectural firm. To keep the 1.4 million-square-foot expansion of the main hospital and the 425,000-square-foot expansion at the children's hospital from seeming too formidable, architects will employ techniques such as terracing, staggering, curving long walls, and incorporating transparent glass walls
