The tool has been introduced as architects and designers are experiencing a growing need for this type of information as projects with sustainability priorities become more prevalent. EcoScorecard is a powerful, easy-to-use tool with a built-in algorithm to provide a comprehensive accounting of how a specific product contributes to selected sustainability criteria.
It provides an objective evaluation based on a wide array of accepted protocols such as GGHC, Labs21, NSF-140, and LEED®. Without it, designers and architects are often left relying on e-mail exchanges, faxes or phone tags with sales associates to find, document and evaluate the pertinent information.
While no definitive research exists regarding trends in time spent researching and evaluating products for sustainable performance, many industry experts agree that it's on the rise and shows no signs of abating.
