Jan. 8, 2008

CHICAGO - The Trustees of the IIDA Foundation recently announced the recipient of the Kimball Office Scholarship Fund.

Made possible through the generosity of Kimball Office, the Kimball Office Scholarship Fund, with emphasis on funding diversity at the college/university level, is a three-year program that annually awards $5,000 to a senior year student pursuing a degree in interior design. The winning student, of African, Asian, Latin or Native American heritage, is selected based upon excellence in both academics and promising design talent.

The second recipient of the Kimball Office Scholarship Fund is Yeshica Marroquin from the University of Texas at Arlington.

"We were thoroughly impressed with Yeshica's portfolio and her comprehension of the balance of art and technology, as well as a noteworthy evidence of spatial exploration and innovative concepts in the interior design process. The quality of her work and her skills are quite advanced and she will be a great design professional," states David Hanson, IIDA, FIDIBC, chair of the IIDA Foundation.

The IIDA Foundation is grateful to Kimball Office for recognizing the importance of diversity in the interior design profession and for their commitment to fund this program.
