CHICAGO - HOK Chicago has been selected to renovate and expand the Chicago Resource Center for Allsteel at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The project involves approximately 16,000 square feet of showroom space.
Allsteel, a contract furniture manufacturer, has enlisted the help of HOK Chicago to creatively redesign showroom space that will be unveiled in June 2008 at the NeoCon® World's Trade Fair. This project marks the fourth time that HOK and Allsteel have joined forces. "As we continue to build our branded efforts, we are delighted to partner with HOK Chicago to enhance the experience for our customers and the design community," says Eugene Sung, president of Allsteel.
The HOK project team includes Tom Polucci, Sheryl Schulze, Lauren Brightwell, Cynthia Flamm, and Ed Bark. "The opportunity to design a space frequented by top design professionals is very exciting," notes Polucci, vice president and director of design for HOK Chicago. "This project gives us a chance to really demonstrate our creative abilities."
The team will pursue LEED® certification for the new Chicago Resource Center from the U.S. Green Building Council, which has already awarded the Merchandise Mart LEED Silver certification.
