Old Center Gets New Look
America's oldest continuous-use performing arts center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, recently got a makeover that features an undulating glass canopy. The concept for the canopy — a wavy, transparent surface composed of glass triangles — is an architectural expression of the center's historical adaptation of blending its programming with tradition and innovation.

The newly expanded NorthPark shopping center in Dallas earned an international design award thanks to its many unique features including contrasting colors and a sculpture gallery. The facility also features clerestories and skylights that shed some natural light on tenants' merchandise.

A renovation at an Austin office tower includes a massive installation over the span of an existing lobby light wall by Barbara Strasen. The renovation will completely rework the building's plaza and lobby and features other artists as well, such as an acrylic and light work by Vasa Mihich.
