IRMA America Gets New Facility

May 1, 2008

ANN ARBOR,MI - Harley Ellis Devereaux has been retained by IRMA America Inc. to provide fully integrated architectural design and engineering services for a new research facility located at the site of its U.S. headquarters. The facility broke ground on May 12 and is the fourth building that has been constructed since IMRA established its U.S. headquarters in Ann Arbor in 1990. Construction is scheduled for completion in spring 2009.

The 21,000-square-foot, two-floor research facility includes four research laboratories and will bring IMRA's total space at the campus to 54,000 square feet. Sustainable features, such as a rain garden and bioswales to filter rain water before they reach detention ponds will be utilized to minimize the impact of the site's natural features. The facility is expected to receive LEED-Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Harley Ellis Devereaux provided design services for all of its Ann Arbor facilities.

The company plans to expand into semiconductor research, and will use the new space to collaborate with outside researchers, including academia. The campus expansion is expected to add 20 new jobs to its current staff of 60.
