PARK RIDGE, IL - Hilary Sopata, registered interior designer and principal of Park Ridge-based Interior Visions Designs Inc. will be addressing how to incorporate environmentally friendly options into interior design plans during the annual NeoCon® World Trade's Fair at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. NeoCon is the country's largest conference and exhibition of contract furnishings for the design and management of the built environment.
Sopata is the owner and president of Interior Visions Designs Inc. and a registered interior designer with more than 13 years of experience in the design industry encompassing both residential and commercial design. She holds a professional certificate from the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) and serves on the panel which judges the professional exam administered by the NCIDQ. A 1995 graduate from Valparaiso University with a double major of interior design and art, Sopata is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and currently serves on the Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL) board of directors. She will become president of ASID-IL as of October 2008.
Her career projects have included Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, hundreds of residential clients, and everything in between.
Sopata will be discussing how designers can incorporate environmentally friendly options into their interior design projects at her seminar entitled "Designing Green in a Brown World."
"We know about green design but most designers don't know how to include those green design choices into their projects yet," says Sopata. "We will discuss how designers can begin to think green from the beginning of a project, where to look for green alternatives, how to introduce green options in the middle of a project, and how to incorporate these alternatives into a budget."
