Projection and AV at the IAC Video Wall

July 1, 2008

AV Awards e-Lunch & Learn Webinar Series

The world's largest high-resolution edge-blended video wall resides inside the lobby of the InterActiveCorp's (IAC) global headquarters in the Chelsea District of New York City. The project features a 10-story glass façade with contours reminiscent of the unfurled, wind-tossed sails of a ship. The wall can be seen from the West Side Highway, catching the eyes of vehicle traffic as well as passersby with IAC brand messaging. The system employs eighteen projectors to produce one seamless image on a 120-foot-long by 11-foot-tall screen. A special software allows the synchronization of computer images onto the screen, and different modes allow different needs to be addressed at various times of the day, such as presentations during events. AV racks holding PCs, processors, and routing equipment were installed to fulfill the screen's high-definition requirements.
