In hopes of reinvigorating the distinction of a New York City office building, Gertler & Wente Architects recently performed a makeover. The Perishing Square Building now has a renovated lobby space with an arched glass canopy lit by concealed LED fixtures and a dark grey stone floor that complements the facility’s original limestone walls.

Steven Holl Designs New Home for Franz Kafka Society
Located in a former tenement house near the Old Town Square in the center of Prague's former Jewish quarter, the revamped facility now features space for lectures, exhibitions, and concerts, as well as a private library. Newly inserted windows and skylights wash the previously dark space in daylight, and black and white bookshelves serve as partitions for the entire building.
