ASID Partners with MMPI, Moves Annual Conference to NeoCon

Dec. 9, 2008

WASHINGTON - Building on the success of the annual NeoCon® World's Trade Fair, the American Society of Interior Designers has announced plans to launch a new ASID National Conference in conjunction with the 2009 event, June 15-17. This venture is made possible through a partnership with Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI), the tradeshow management company that produces NeoCon World's Trade Fair, the largest conference and exhibition of contract furnishings in North America.

As an official show partner, ASID is working closely with MMPI to integrate the ASID National Conference within NeoCon World's Trade Fair.

Each year, more than 50,000 attendees travel to The Merchandise Mart in Chicago, the world's largest commercial building and wholesale design center, for NeoCon World's Trade Fair. NeoCon is the event of the year where companies from around the world gather to unveil the latest trends and products in the contract furnishings industry. In addition to browsing 1.2 million square feet of permanent showrooms and temporary exhibits debuting thousands of new commercial and residential products and services, attendees have the opportunity to take part in 130 CEU-accredited seminars and keynote presentations from world-renowned speakers, while enjoying networking with colleagues from the industry.

"We thank MMPI for giving us the exciting opportunity to join these two great events together and offer ASID sponsored educational programming and events at NeoCon," says Michael Alin, Hon. FASID, executive director of ASID. "This will greatly enhance the annual conference experience for ASID members and the Society is looking forward to contributing more to the NeoCon show."
