April 6, 2009

WASHINGTON – Three prominent experts in sustainability announced the formation of Ecoimpact, a consultancy to businesses that wish to begin or broaden their green initiatives. Penny Bonda, Diana Horvat, and Ken Wilson, long recognized as thought leaders in the green movement, offer their expertise to companies looking to sustainability, not only as a strategic advantage, but as an ethical and social imperative.

“Many businesses are recognizing the urgency of implanting green initiatives into their plans and procedures,” states Horvat. “We’re here to help them impact their bottom line results through green business strategies that create understanding, knowledge, value, and recognition.”

Ecoimpact was founded on the belief that sustainability is a portal to achieving a greater competitive advantage, even in a down economy.

“It is becoming an imperative for many companies,” says Wilson, “and we have a collective knowledge of the sustainability framework and a proven track record. We will engage, advise and assist you implement fresh ideas and sophisticated approaches.”

Through a comprehensive and customized menu of services, the partners and staff of Ecoimpact will guide companies rethinking their approaches to achieve sustainability and economic goals. These will include both internal and external strategic assessments, trainings, promotion, and research.

“One of the most important things that we can do,” says Bonda, “is to help our clients identify their own strengths and positioning within their market sector. Is your structure and culture green compatible? What do your people need for successfully contributing to integrating green? What are you doing now and what should you be doing?”

As the LEED® Green Building Rating System continues to evolve, Ecoimpact will also offer in-house LEED training as well as workshops on advanced strategies and personal sustainability coaching for its clients. The firm helps clients sort through and make sense of industry reports and trends, information on tax incentives and regulations and how to use the tools to help you track your green progress.
