Web Site Launched to Help Schools Specify Carpet

April 27, 2009

ATLANTA – INVISTA, the manufacturer of Antron® carpet fiber, recently announced the launch of antron.net/recovery, a site designed to help school facility managers identify and specify carpet for school renovations, as they look to utilize funding available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). On the Web site, users will find tools to aid in the selection of carpets that help meet sustainable and high-performance school criteria.

“We created antron.net/recovery to provide an easy way for school administrators and facility managers to select carpets that will help improve their facilities while contributing to the development of high-performing learning environments,” says Bobby Berrier, vice president commercial interiors, INVISTA.

According to Kieren Corcoran, education segment manager, INVISTA, “Carpets constructed with Antron nylon meet many of the requirements of LEED and CHPS, including green building guidelines and carpet-specific criteria, while delivering demonstrable improvements over hard surfaces in acoustics, ergonomics and slip-and-fall safety. We hope antron.net/recovery will help educate specifiers on the benefits of carpet in schools and provide the tools needed to take advantage of the stimulus package.”

Antron.net/recovery provides schools with access to:

  • High-performance carpet specifications
  • Tools that demonstrate the cost effectiveness of carpet selections over time
  • Understanding potential points that can be earned for sustainability programs

Antron carpet fiber consultants are available to help schools evaluate their needs and select the right carpet for their installation from more than 800 carpet styles of Antron carpet fiber, available from 20 commercial carpet mills.

Antron carpet fiber is constructed with type 6,6 nylon polymer, exceptional fiber engineering and treated with DuraTech™ soil resistance treatment.
