InformeDesign Launches Additional Continuing Education Courses

MINNEAPOLIS – InformeDesign®, the revolutionary Web site devoted to design and human behavior research, has added new courses to InStore, an online store featuring courses developed from InformeDesign’s extensive library of Research Summaries and publications. There are dozens of courses currently available, which have been developed around health, safety, and welfare topics for architects, interior designers, landscape architects, facility managers, urban planners, and other design professionals.

The new courses are available in two formats: Inquiry—a new InformeDesign research brief that summarizes key findings from Research Summaries, and related issues of Implications on a particular topic; and Webcasts—one-hour sessions featuring noted researchers or designers presenting on a topic in their area of expertise.

AIA and IDCEC approval has been given for most courses, and pending for the new courses. Users can also self-certify with their own professional organization by following its guidelines. The courses we developed to meet intermediate and advanced levels of learning.

InformeDesign is the first searchable database of design and human behavior research on the Web. The site currently contains more than 2,200 “practitioner-friendly” Research Summaries of findings from research literature transformed from more than 200 scholarly journals related to design and human behavior. The free Web site (www.informedesign.com) is interactive, allowing users to provide comments about specific Research Summaries or other site issues.
