JASPER, IN – National Office Furniture’s deep commitment to sustainability continues with its Orange County, CA, showroom earning certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) standard for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI).
Sustainable features include Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood flooring and 100 percent of the showroom’s energy consumption will come from renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, geothermal and biomass.
“Earning LEED certification was a goal from day one for our Orange County showroom as it is for all our facility plans,” says Kourtney Smith, director of marketing. “We take great pride in our holistic approach to sustainability from facilities and logistics to people and products. We are pleased to add this green space to our network and to the community of Irvine, California.”
Orange County is National’s fourth LEED-certified showroom (Jasper, IN-Gold; Chicago, IL-Silver; New York, NY-Certified) and a fifth facility (Research and Development Annex, Jasper, IN-Certified) is in its footprint. National is a member of the USGBC.
Located in the Spectrum 5 development, Ware Malcomb of Irvine designed the 3,000-square-foot open floor showroom where guests can experience National’s furnishings in natural light from floor to ceiling windows providing a panoramic view of the city and mountains.
