MARIETTA, GA – Though always important, the need for productive job seeking skills, and easier access to support tools and resources continues to heighten as the economy deepens its impact across all industries. Recognizing this, commercial carpeting manufacturer The Mohawk Group expands its free Re:work career workshop series to welcome architects and designers who may have a job today, but are unsure about tomorrow.
"We are surrounded by uncertainty, and it’s not an emotion reserved only for the currently unemployed,” says Al Kabus, president, The Mohawk Group. “While the economy works to right itself, there is still a strong likelihood that many more architects and designers will lose their jobs. By opening our Re:work seminars to include both the unemployed and the employed, we are truly helping a community make the connections they need—to colleagues, potential employers and to support resources—to feel better and more prepared for the next phases of their careers.”
In partial sponsorship with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), The Mohawk Group will hold events in the following cities this fall.
- Phoenix, September 17, Mondrian Scottsdale

‘Re:work-ing’ an Industry
To date, nearly 1,000 architects and designers have registered for the live, day-long workshop and seminar-style events, which have taken place in seven cities across the United States (Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, and Portland). Providing valuable opportunities to work with experts on resume writing, financial planning, interview skills, portfolios and career coaching, Re:work events offer constructive industry insight from architects and designers. The events are CEU-accredited (.4 CEU credits) by IDCEC.
