LMNOP to Hold Benefit at Steelcase Showroom

Oct. 5, 2009

NEW YORK – "America's Workplace Guru" Stephen Viscusi will share his expert knowledge on career development at the first autumn benefit for the newly formed organization, LMNOP (Leadership, Mentoring, Networking & Opportunity for A&D Professionals).

The benefit is open to the industry and will be held at the Steelcase New York Showroom, located at 4 Columbus Circle, on October 20. Additional support for the event will be provided by Designtex and Details, a Steelcase Company.

LMNOP strives to present relevant professional development topics and knowledgeable speakers to the A&D industry. In light of the current economic situation, LMNOP is pleased to have Viscusi share his knowledge. "Our mission of professional development allows us to bring interesting topics to our members and the industry while still enabling us to respond to current industry interests and demands," comments Jennifer Graham, founder of LMNOP.

Stephen Viscusi—founder and CEO of "Bulletproof Your resume.com" a specialized resume service company—is a columnist and broadcast journalist in the workplace genre and author of Bulletproof Your Job: 4 Simple Strategies to Ride Out the Rough Times and Come Out On Top at Work. Viscusi’s expert advice has recently been featured in global magazines including Fortune, Details, the Bottom Line/Personal, Men’s Fitness and Money. Publisher's Weekly says, "Viscusi offers a sound strategy for surviving to work another day." He has been interviewed on numerous news and entertainment outlets such as “Good Morning America,” CBS, ABC, among others. This January, Viscusi will be the star of the upcoming Fox reality series “The Headhunter From Hell.”

At the benefit, Napier, Joseph and McNamara will sponsor a drawing to give away two free career consultations, each a $300 value. Anyone who attends the event will be eligible to win.

LMNOP (Leadership, Mentoring, Networking & Opportunity for A&D Professionals) is a New York City-based professional development and networking society organized by and for those within the A&D community whereby members can connect, support, and mentor each other. Sparked during the 2009 economic downturn by a small group of professionals, and rapidly growing to more than 160 members in less than six months, LMNOP's mission is to strengthen design professionals with the business skills required to remain competitive and relevant in the industry. Reaching across all occupations within the A&D industry, LMNOP has developed into a formalized organization that provides personal, hands-on training, workshops and mentoring opportunities to nurture leadership skills for the industry's leaders of tomorrow.

RSVP to this event at [email protected] by Thursday, October 15. A suggested contribution of $25 will be collected at the door.
