Salmon Arm, BC, Canada – DINOFLEX Group recently announced that its recycled indoor rubber flooring products have received FloorScore® certification.
First adopted in California, these stringent indoor air quality criteria have become a national standard in the major U.S. environmental programs. FloorScore was developed by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) in collaboration with the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) following several years of extensive testing. SCS is an internationally recognized third-party certifier that follows established and recognized guidelines to ensure objectivity.
“This certification once again confirms the high quality DINOFLEX has always delivered to the world. It gives DINOFLEX the recognition needed for architects and designers working in the education and health care segments, because they confirm that DINOFLEX meets the stringent CA Section 01350 requirements,” says Terry MacLeod, CEO of DINOFLEX Group LP.
MacLeod notes that the certification process involved on-site inspections of the manufacturing facility, confirming quality control procedures are in place. “It furthers our commitment to continuous improvement and ensures that a company has a customer service protocol to address client concerns and issues in an efficient and effective manner.”
The certification can also add potential benefits under the LEED Rating System. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has cited FloorScore-certified flooring products as eligible for credits under the new LEED 2009 Version 3 guidelines. Reflecting the inclusion of FloorScore, the new LEED IEQ Credit 4.3 for Low-Emitting Materials has been expanded from “Carpet Systems” to “Flooring Systems” to include hard surface flooring.
