Gunlocke Accepting Entries for Office Makeover Contest

March 5, 2010

WAYLAND, NY – With the “Office Needs for Good Deeds” online contest, one commendable nonprofit organization stands to win an office makeover worth approximately $75,000.

Gunlocke, an industry leader in high-end casegoods, conferencing, seating and lounge furniture, is anxiously awaiting the moment to award one deserving organization with an office makeover. To help improve the style and productivity within its space, the winning organization will receive a makeover up to 1,200 square feet for its offices featuring Gunlocke’s latest casegood line, Silea™.

More than 45 entries have been submitted since the contest launched on January 18, 2010, and additional online submissions will be accepted until April 16, 2010, at www.gunlocke.com/gooddeeds.

To enter, local, regional or national public charities and private foundation nonprofit organizations will need to submit pictures of their offices along with a 500 word (maximum) written description of their work within the community and how a possible office makeover will positively impact their ability to better serve their communities. A panel of judges will then select 10 to 15 semifinalists, out of which one grand prize winner will be chosen. Entrants will be judged on their devotion to execute the nonprofit’s mission, their positive influence on the community and the need for a more efficient workspace. The winner of the contest will be announced on April 30, 2010.

“We’re very excited about the response our Office Needs for Good Deeds contest has received so far,” says Don Mead, president of Gunlocke. “It’s rewarding to know that the so many nonprofit organizations are interested in our first-ever contest, and we’re looking forward to making one of the entrants dreams a reality.”

The Gunlocke Silea casegood line that will be installed in the winning office is a unique furniture solution that incorporates functional necessities like technology integration, wire management and innovative storage. It boasts aesthetic diversity and appeal that has not been sacrificed in the name of utility. In fact, Silea’s beauty lies not only in its functionality and flexibility of scale, but its simplicity.

Additional sponsors and products of the Gunlocke Office Needs for Good Deeds online contest include Johnsonite Space™ modular resilient flooring and wall base, Luxo Terea™ task lighting and Loft™ uplighting, as well as Pratt & Lambert Accolade® acrylic latex interior coatings.
