CHICAGO – The American Society of Interior Designers–Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL) is now accepting entries for the 2010 Design Excellence Awards, an annual competition open to ASID-IL members, International Interior Design Association Illinois (IIDA-IL) members and registered interior designers in the state of Illinois.
Presented by ASID-IL and publishing partner i4design magazine, the deadline to submit entries for the seventh annual Design Excellence Awards is Friday, June 25, 2010.
“Each year, we continue to be amazed by the project submissions from Illinois designers for this prestigious competition,” says Joan Kaufman, ASID, LEED AP, 2009-2010 ASID-IL chapter president. “As a group, ours is a leading state when it comes to progressive design concepts and implementation. This is a chance for novice, experienced and veteran designers to showcase their residential and commercial projects and be recognized on a statewide level.”
Designers are welcome to submit their entries in 22 residential, contract and product design categories, including: green design, universal design, kitchen, bath, showcase room, special function room, corporate offices, retail, hospitality, health care, and institutional.
A panel of distinguished interior design professionals will review the entries and select category winners on the basis of lighting, scale and proportion, color and composition, design creativity, function, solutions appropriate to the design criteria, materials and patterns. All entries will be judged by an out-of-state chapter by the highest standards of the profession.
Winners Announced in the Fall
All winning entries will be published in a private-label magazine that will be mailed after the “Celebration of Design Gala,” which will be held on September 23, 2010, at the Chase Auditorium Theater in Chicago. This ASID magazine is distributed throughout the year at special events held by ASID-IL. Additionally, select first place winners will be published in the October Design Awards Issue of i4design magazine.
