WASHINGTON – The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is providing more programming than ever for new interior designers and students during ASID at NeoCon. Networking opportunities, career advice from experienced designers and a forum on the role of young designers are just a few highlights of the lineup.
ASID at NeoCon is ASID’s national conference that takes place at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in Chicago June 14 – 16. Emerging professional and student-centered programs include:
Design It Forward Forum: June 15, 1 – 3 p.m.
This forum features a panel of “generation next,” a collection of young, multidisciplinary design generalists that are blending the lines of design. Emily Pilloton, founder and executive director of Project H Design, will facilitate the forum that explores the changing way business is done.
Emerging Professionals Town Hall: June 15, 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.
This event offers inspirational stories and sound advice from the esteemed ASID Fellows during a panel discussion and Q&A session. It also features the debut of the Fellows Project video, a collection of real-world advice for up-and-coming professionals from ASID Fellows. Networking cocktail hour begins at 4:30 p.m. (RSVP required).
Rise Up! | Emerging Professionals Networking: June 16, 8 p.m.
Continuing the excitement of the Emerging Professionals Town Hall, this event provides a casual venue for meeting other emerging professionals from across the nation.
Career Exchange: June 16, 9:45 – 11:45 a.m.
This is a networking opportunity for students and recent graduates to meet with leading architecture and design firms and discuss their work, portfolio and their future. Industry representatives will be on hand to offer information about their companies and ASID members will lend their expertise during one-on-one sessions.
